What We Do
We're Alec and James, two drummers who met in band over fifteen years ago.
We marched drum corps, taught high school groups, and instructed ensembles in DCI and WGI — and we spent a lot of time with metronomes. But the tools we had never quite kept up with the way we practiced, rehearsed, or wrote. We wanted something more flexible, more programmable, and honestly, just more enjoyable to use.
So we made it.
Subdivide is the metronome we always wished we had — built for musicians who live in the details. It's smart enough to follow complex meters and tempo changes, but simple enough to stay out of the way when you're locked in.
We design and build everything ourselves, with care, and with the same mindset we brought to the practice room: get a little better every day.
